Florida Parking Laws

Sun City Center residents are fortunate to have gently slanted curbs that are more easily navigable by people with mobility difficulties and/or need to use assistive devices like walkers and wheelchairs. However, too many residents and visitors seem to think this makes our sidewalks into a parking lot, often pulling their vehicles part way, or all the way, onto the sidewalk instead of parking properly on the street. This is the most common parking violation in our community and is against Florida law. This is dangerous for all walkers and runners who have to detour into the street to get around them, not only putting them on the street with the traffic, but creating a danger for those with mobility problems. Other common violations are parking going against the flow of traffic, and parking too close to intersections. Please note the poster below detailing Florida parking laws and insure that you and your visitors follow them for the safety of all.
